ENPOWER took part in “Higher Education and Industry – Partnership for a Digital Future”, an event organised in collaboration with the DERHE project and the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska. The event brought together representatives from industry and higher education to discuss how stronger cooperation between academia and the business sector can contribute to digitalisation, innovation and the development of practical solutions to emerging societal challenges.
As part of the programme, Prof. Petar Gvero, ENPOWER Project Coordinator, delivered a lecture titled “Addressing Winter and Summer Energy Poverty”. He presented selected results and activities from the ENPOWER project, introducing the audience to the importance of considering energy poverty across different seasons and energy needs. While winter energy poverty is often associated with inadequate heating, growing cooling requirements during warmer periods also raise questions about affordability, energy efficiency and the performance of buildings.
The presentation provided an opportunity to connect ENPOWER’s research with the perspective of industry representatives and to highlight the role of efficient buildings, energy systems and innovation in addressing energy vulnerability. It also illustrated the importance of bringing technical knowledge and practical sector experience together when developing responses to the complex challenges associated with the energy transition.
