ENPOWER At European Researchers’ Night 2026 In Banja Luka

ENPOWER was represented at European Researchers’ Night 2026 in Banja Luka by researchers from the University of Banja Luka, Danijela Kardaš Ančić and Milan Pupčević. Held on 25 September across 13 cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the event brought researchers and the public together through demonstrations, workshops, experiments and opportunities for direct dialogue about science and innovation.

The participation provided an opportunity to introduce ENPOWER and its work to a wider public, bringing topics related to energy poverty, sustainable energy and energy-efficient solutions into a broader conversation about the role of research in everyday life. Researchers’ Night is designed to make science more accessible and encourage people, particularly young people, to engage directly with researchers and discover how research connects with challenges in society.

For ENPOWER, this type of public engagement is particularly important. The project combines technical research on energy in buildings and energy efficiency with social, economic and policy perspectives, with the wider goal of developing solutions that respond to the needs of communities affected by energy poverty. Bringing researchers into direct contact with citizens helps make these issues easier to understand while creating opportunities for questions, exchange and wider awareness.

The event therefore contributed to ENPOWER’s ongoing effort to connect scientific knowledge with society and strengthen the role of researchers as active participants in the energy transition. It also reinforced the project’s commitment to public engagement and to making research on energy poverty and sustainable energy more visible and accessible beyond academic and professional audiences.
