On 10th June 2026, representatives of the ENPOWER consortium, including the University of Banja Luka (UNIBL), Tilburg University (TiU) and SITES, participated in European Sustainable Energy Week 2026 in Brussels. The visit formed part of the ENPOWER mobility programme hosted by Tilburg University and represented an important opportunity to engage with one of Europe’s leading platforms for dialogue on clean energy, innovation and sustainable development.
For the ENPOWER consortium, participation at EUSEW extended well beyond attending presentations. The event provided numerous opportunities to network with European stakeholders working on research, innovation and policy development in the fields of energy poverty and sustainable energy. Informal discussions with experts and project representatives allowed the delegation to exchange experiences, explore complementary initiatives and identify potential avenues for future cooperation beyond the lifetime of ENPOWER.
The visit also reinforced several important lessons that resonate with the project’s mission. Discussions throughout the conference highlighted the growing recognition that addressing energy poverty requires integrated solutions combining technological innovation with social inclusion, governance, citizen participation and evidence-based policymaking. This multidisciplinary perspective reflects ENPOWER’s own approach through its four case studies and the development of the BAS-Living Lab, where technical research is combined with stakeholder engagement to generate practical and scalable solutions.
Participation in EUSEW further demonstrated the value of maintaining an active presence within the wider European research and innovation ecosystem. By engaging directly with leading initiatives and organisations working on the clean energy transition, the ENPOWER consortium continues to strengthen its scientific network, build new collaborations and ensure that the knowledge developed within the project remains connected to emerging European priorities and best practices.
