On 29 May 2025, at the premises of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Banja Luka, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally signed between two significant international projects:
- The HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-ACCESS-02 project titled “ENPOWER – Enhancing Scientific Capacity for Energy Poverty”, coordinated by the University of Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina; and
- The ERASMUS+ Capacity Building in Higher Education – Strand 2 project titled “DERHE – Digital Education Readiness in the Field of Higher Education”, coordinated by the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The MoU was signed by Professor Dr. Petar Gvero, Coordinator of the ENPOWER project, and Professor Dr. Tomaž Berlec, Coordinator of the DERHE project, with the presence of the dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering prof dr Darko Knezevic. This event was held as part of the 17th International Scientific Conference DEMI 2025, organized by Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and hosted in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The purpose of this Memorandum is to establish a strategic framework for cooperation between the ENPOWER and DERHE projects in relation to the industrial and business sectors, specifically in the areas of energy poverty and LEAN & GREEN practices.
Key areas of collaboration outlined in the MoU include:
- Exchange of technical staff and researchers;
- Joint research activities;
- Joint organization and participation in seminars, and scientific and technical meetings;
- Exchange of publications and other scientific information;
- Short-term specialized research programs, projects, or training activities;
- Other forms of technical cooperation in the fields of renewable energy and energy poverty, to be mutually agreed upon by both parties;
- Preparation of joint research and innovation (R&I) project proposals.
The main objective of this MoU is to promote joint research and educational initiatives while strengthening partnerships with industry and international stakeholders.
